American bobsledders struck fierce poses for photographers Tuesday as they arrived in Baltimore to model the speed suits they will wear in the Winter Olympics in South Korea next month.
One Olympic veteran, Chris Fogt, said the suits — designed by Under Armour — are less “superhero” this year and more Americana.
“My first year we looked like Captain America,” said Fogt, a U.S. Army captain who will be competing in his third Olympics. “I actually wore that as a costume with a mask and a little shield and the speed suit from 2010 for Halloween.
The 2010 design, which included graphic stars and stripes, was “more superhero,” Fogt said. “The one now is classier. It looks very, very good.”
“The zipper is longer, which is nice when you have to use the restroom,” Fogt said. “If you’re in a race and your zipper is up to here, you have to take your whole suit off. It’s a bit of a distraction.”
