Trohv, Hampden’s home decor and gift shop, will close permanently due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In an Instagram post Tuesday, owner Carmen Brock said the 36th Street storefront will most likely close its doors in mid-August. The small business has operated in Hampden for about 14 years.

A representative of Trohv could not immediately be reached for comment Tuesday night.

“We tried to remain steady and hold tight during the pandemic, but we are not able to sustain our unreduced overhead,” Brock said in the post. “Though we wish the circumstances were different, it’s time for Trohv to pivot, reprioritize, and look ahead.”

Brock said in the post that she is hopeful the closure will allow for new collaborations, locations, concepts or pop-ups — and some rest.

“Our overwhelming feeling is one of gratitude for YOU, and we have lots more to say about this in the coming days,” Brock said in the post.

Trohv merchandise has been marked down 20%, and visuals, fixtures and supplies are also for sale. Store hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the post states.

Customers and small groups can also make private appointments to shop outside of store hours by emailing hellobmore@trohvshop.com or calling 410-366-3456, according to the post.
