Circa, a Sinclair Broadcast Group news and entertainment website targeting millennials, plans to expand internationally, with video-on demand channels to be available in Europe this spring.
The Circa brand announced a partnership Monday with Ownzones Media Network, a global distribution and content provider, which will help expand Circa programming with a series of subscription and ad-supported video on demand channels.
Circa channels will air original short-and long-form content, ranging from breaking news, documentaries, lifestyle and humor. Content will be available through mobile and desktop devices and on big-screen televisions.
The companies expect Circa to expand its reach to potentially tens of millions of homes in Europe and the U.S. by the end of the year. The website has generated more than 520 million video streams since being launched by Hunt Valley-based Sinclair last year in July.
