The Restaurant Store, a supplier of equipment and supplies for restaurants, is opening a second Baltimore area location in Woodlawn.
The retailer, a division of Lancaster, Pa.,-based Clark Associates Inc., will open a 57,000-square-foot store on Whitehead Court where it will employ 15 people and sell more than 25,000 in-stock items.
The company also runs store on Kane Street in Baltimore, serving the city's restaurants and bars. The Woodlawn store is expected to draw customers from throughout central Maryland because of its proximity to Interstate 70, I-95, I-695 and U.S. Route 40. Customers also can order online at TheRestaurantStore.com and pick up orders in stores.
The Woodlawn location, which previously housed Beverage Capital Corp., includes 20,000 square feet of warehouse space to be used as a staging area for Clark Food Service Equipment.
The company runs eight stores, including five locations in Pennsylvania and one in Wilmington, Del. The privately held Clark Associates employs more than 1,800 people and serves commercial food service customers nationwide.
