Indoor roller coaster built by Premier Rides wins top honor again

An indoor roller coaster built by Baltimore-based Premier Rides secured the top honor as the best of its kind for the ninth year in a row.

The Revenge of the Mummy coaster at Universal Studios Orlando won the Golden Ticket Award after it was voted the best in a poll conducted by the industry magazine Amusement Today.

The magnetic propulsion coaster plunges riders into darkness before they face fireballs, giant beetles and an army of warrior mumimmes.

Premier Rides has built sister coasters — based on "The Mummy" movie franchise — at Universal Studios parks in Singapore and Hollywood. The rides can handle 2,000 people an hour and have served more than 130 million people, according to Universal Studios.

While known for its magentic propulsion coasters, Premier Rides designs and builds traditional roller coasters, observation wheels, towers, water rides and other custom designed attractions.
