Global Payments Inc. is closing an office in Owings Mills and will lay off 334 workers by March 2017, state officials announced.
The Atlanta-based company filed a notice with state Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation that the facility at 10705 Red Run Blvd. will close. But a department spokeswoman said she wasn't told exactly when the plant will shut down.
A company spokeswoman declined to comment.
Global Payments will lay off workers between July 30 and March 31, 2017, the notice stated.
The company, which processes credit card transactions for merchants, has more than 8,500 employees in 29 counties. Global Payments closed on its $4.3 billion acquisition of Heartland Payment Systems in late April.
The deal was expected to boost Global Payments' revenue while creating $50 million in cost saving by 2017 and $125 million a year after that.
