It will be the second location to launch under the Pendry brand, a division of California's Montage Hotels & Resorts, a self-described "ultra-luxury hotel and resort management company" with properties in Hawaii and Beverly Hills.

Sagamore, which is privately owned by Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank, started work on the roughly $60 million conversion project last year. War Horse LLC, the firm owned by Plank's brother Scott, is also involved.

The 128-room hotel will have a pool, restaurant, ballroom, whiskey bar, and courtyard containing a horse sculpture by Fernando Botero, a Colombian artist known for his work depicting exuberantly rounded figures.
