Harris Teeter has recalled five ground beef products sold Monday at the Fulton store because of possible metal fragments in the food, the North Carolina-based grocer said Tuesday.
The chain took the voluntary step because of a possibility that fragments might have been ground with the beef in the store's Butchers Market.
The recall – only for products at the store in Maple Lawn Market Place on Westside Drive – is for HT Premium Ground beef 80% Lean, HT Ground Beef Chuck 80% Lean, HT Ground Beef Chuck 80% Lean Custom, HT Gourmet Burger - EZ Jalapeno Monterey Jack and HT Gourmet Burger - Bacon & Cheddar Beef Burger.
The supermarket said it removed the products from its store when notified by employees.
Shoppers who bought those products on Monday should return them to the store for double their money back. Customers with questions can call the company's customer relations department at 1-800-432-6111, Option 2.
