GameStop is evolving as a gaming store by expanding Cricket wireless products and services to 3,400 locations, including new stores in Owings Mills, Mt. Airy and Westminster, the Texas-based retailer said.
The move makes GameStop Cricket's largest retail distributor. The wireless provider is a subsidiary of AT&T Inc.
"The strategic relationship builds on the strengths and benefits of both retailers as we continue to enhance and expand mobile services presence nationwide," said Jason Cochran, senior vice president of U.S. stores at GameStop, in the announcement.
GameStop stores with Cricket products will have an employee trained to help Cricket customers. Customers will be ale to trade in pre-owned video games in exchange for payment toward Cricket devices and service.
