Domino's is hiring in Baltimore area

Domino's Pizza stores plan to hire 300 people at 40 locations in the Baltimore area — a sign of rising dough for the country's largest pizza delivery chain.

The firm's profits reached $114.6 million in the first three quarters of the year, up more than 16 percent compared to 2013. The Michigan-based company has seen increased sales since it introduced a new pizza recipe in 2010.

Chris Rowe, director of corporate operations in Maryland, said Tuesday that growth in the Baltimore area had contributed to the need for more employees, particularly during the busier winter season.

The firm will host two job fairs next week to conduct interviews and review applicants for delivery driver and assistant manager positions. There are both full-time and part-time jobs available, with salaries starting at minimum wage, Rowe said.

The job fairs are planned for Jan. 7 from 6-9 p.m. at the Hawthorn Center at 6175 Sunny Spring in Columbia, and at the Best Western at 5625 O'Donnell St. in Baltimore. Candidates are expected to bring resumes and references.

Founded in 1960, Domino's has more than 11,250 stores, including more than 5,000, largely franchise, locations in the U.S.

The company employs about 1,100 people at 48 corporate stores in the Maryland region, Rowe said. The number does not include employees at Domino's franchises, he said.
