The Maryland Public Service Commission has scheduled several hearings in November where members of the public can comment on Baltimore Gas and Electric Co.'s proposed rate increase.

BGE is asking for its fourth rate increase in as many years, which would raise distribution charges to residents getting both gas and electric service by about $15 a month on average. BGE says it needs the rate increase to offset the cost of infrastructure upgrades. The higher rates would take effect in January if approved by the PSC.
