Data Computer Corp. of America, an Ellicott City information technology and engineering company, has been awarded a contract from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services worth up to $12 million over four years.
Through the contract, DCCA, a veteran-owned business, will develop and maintain the agency's new Medicaid Drug Program system, which will consolidate and modernize several drug tracking programs.
The new system is intended to improve analytics, data sharing and CMS's ability to monitor programs. Bringing together the agency's various drug programs will also improve the CMS's ability to compare programs across states.
"Ultimately, the development of the new MDR system will help consolidate multiple data sources into a single platform, providing increased efficiencies and more intelligent insights into the information stored within the system," said DCCA CEO David W. Bower in a statement.
DCCA specializes in technology support, systems development, data analytics and testing services for government agencies.
