Robert J. Norton, Maryland Live's president and general manager since its 2012 opening, has been promoted to head up the Cordish Companies gaming division.
Norton will become president of Cordish Global Gaming Group, the company's international gaming division, as it expands. He will continue to serve as Maryland Live's president, the company said.
But the casino, the state's largest, also is bringing in Douglas Shipley as its new executive vice president and general manager.
Shipley, who has more than 30 years of casino management experience, most recently was president and CEO of Margaritaville Casino in Biloxi, Miss.
The changes are effective immediately.
Cordish plans a hotel and event center at Maryland Live, adjacent to Arundel Mills mall. The company is developing a new hotel and casino in Philadelphia.
