This summer Condor Airlines will add to its seasonal schedule a third weekly flight from BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport to Frankfurt, Germany, according to airport officials.

The German airline began two seasonal weekly flights between the Anne Arundel County airport and the European hub, on Mondays and Thursdays, in July 2012.

The new weekly flight will be on Saturdays.

The new route is the latest in a string of expansions to international flight offerings at BWI, where significant investments have been made — and are coming — to cater to overseas routes.

An overhaul of the airport's international terminal is set to begin in coming months.

"The additional service from Condor highlights our growing international travel market," said Paul J. Wiedefeld, the airport's CEO, in a statement. "Frankfurt is a key international gateway. We remain focused on expanding our global travel and trade opportunities."

Condor serves more than 70 international destinations across Europe, North America, Asia and Africa.
