Annapolis-based Click Notices expands with Baltimore deal

An Annapolis start-up that offers property managers software and other services to simplify the eviction process has acquired the client base of a longstanding Baltimore business and plans to bring on its general partner as part of a national expansion.

Click Notices Inc. launched in Annapolis six years ago and is now active in 12 states, including Maryland, New York and New Jersey. The firm, which has about 30 employees and is backed by private equity firms, has more than 1,000 users, which vary in size, said Eric Sigler, president of Click Notices.

The deal with Baltimore's Leon & Allan Amernick LLP is expected to expand that base by about 50 percent, Sigler said. Terms were not disclosed.

Allan Amernick, whose parents founded the business in 1956, said the deal should allow the family's longstanding customers — some of whom have been with them for decades — to access technology that eases notifications and filings related to late rent payments and evictions.

"I think it will be a great advantage to our clients," he said.
