Clarksburg Premium Outlets, Maryland's newest outlet mall, has opened with a 90-store lineup including retailers such as Armani Exchange, Calvin Klein, Coach, kate spade new york, Nike Factory Store, Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH, Tommy Hilfiger, Tory Burch and Under Armour.

The mall, developed by Simon Property Group off Interstate 270 in Clarksburg, opened Thursday. The outdoor center at 22705 Clarksburg Road features a community space with covered walkways, a children's play area and bike racks.

The opening comes at a time when visits to outlet centers offering popular sports and fashion apparel name brands have continued to outpace mall traffic, according to Cowen and Co.

Indianapolis-based Simon, the nation's largest factory outlet center owner, also has opened Premium Outlet malls in Tampa, Fla.; Tucson, Ariz.; Columbus, Ohio; and Blackwood, N.J., since last year.

Another Baltimore-area outlet center is planned for White Marsh. Paragon Outlet Partners has preleased a portion of its proposed 100-story open air center.

Other area centers include Arundel Mills, with a mix of outlet and discount stores, and malls in Hagerstown, National Harbor, Ocean City and Queenstown, as well as in Hershey and Lancaster in Pennsylvania.
