Brick Bodies will open its first yoga and barre studio in Belvedere Square

In a new fitness niche for Brick Bodies, it's opening a yoga and barre studio in Belvedere Square.

Health club operator Brick Bodies Fitness Services Inc. is getting into the boutique fitness business and opening its first co-ed yoga and barre studio in Belvedere Square in North Baltimore.

Studio B Yoga and Barre will open at the end of May as a separate brand from Brick Bodies and Lynne Brick's health clubs. The 2,500-square-foot studio will offer co-ed yoga and barre classes, including Vinyasa Yoga, Power Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Heated Yoga, Barre, Heated Barre, Yoga-Barre Fusion, Pre-Natal Yoga, and Mommy and Me Yoga.

"With the growing popularity of Barre and over 80 million Americans expected to try yoga for the first time in 2016, we realized there was great opportunity to expand our offerings," said Vicki Brick, CEO of Brick Bodies Fitness Services, in the announcement.

The yoga studio will be designed with overhead radiant heating panels, specialty lighting and over 35 classes per week.

Brick Bodies Fitness, founded in 1985 by Victor and Lynne Brick and now run by their daughter, CEO Vicki Brick, owns and operates Baltimore area health clubs with 27,000 members.
