An event billed as the state's longest-running indoor boat show will open Thursday at the Baltimore Convention Center with 300 boats and more than 150 exhibitors.
The Progressive Insurance Baltimore Boat show will run from Thursday to Sunday, featuring exhibits of engines, marine electronics, accessories and educational seminars.
New technology, such as gas-powered surfboards, will be on display, along with boating apparel, safety products, paddle sports and boat trailers. Ocean City's Captain Dale Lisi, star of National Geographic's Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks, will make appearances.
The National Marine Manufacturers Association, which calls itself the world's largest boat show producer, is putting on the Baltimore show. The group represents the $39.5 billion per year recreational boating industry.
Admission is $14 and free for children ages 15 and under. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Advance tickets can be purchased online.
