The Baltimore Sun Media Group named a new executive to oversee advertising sales across its portfolio of print and digital media brands.
Amy Powers became vice president of advertising for the Baltimore Sun Media Group on Monday. Powers comes to the Sun from another Tribune Publishing Co. property, the Daily Press Media Group in Newport News, Va., where she held the same title since 2012.
"Amy's expertise in multiplatform advertising and marketing will help position [Baltimore Sun Media Group] as the next-generation marketing partner of choice for local advertisers, highlighting how our leading brands engage consumers and drive growth for advertisers," said Timothy E. Ryan, the Sun's publisher and CEO, in a statement.
After a nine-year career in radio advertising sales, Powers joined Tribune Publishing in 2002 at the Chicago Tribune Media Group as an automotive advertising sales representative. The Illinois native worked her way up to advertising sales director there before moving to the Daily Press.
"The Baltimore Sun Media Group has an impressive portfolio of print and digital products for local, regional and national advertisers," Powers said. "I am looking forward to being a part of a vibrant market and a growing media company that provides results-driven, multi-platform solutions for its clients."
