Baltimore Innovation Week is in full swing, with a schedule of more than 65 events ranging from student hack-a-thons to panel discussions about gender equality in technology.
Now in its fifth year, Baltimore Innovation Week is intended to celebrate Baltimore's startup and technology community and offer a way in for people who want to get involved.
"This is just meant to be a window into that community — you can join if you're new or celebrate what you're part of," said Christopher Wink, editorial director of Technical.ly, the technology-focused news and events organization that organizes Baltimore Innovation Week.
The week-long (well, week-and-a-day-long) event kicked off Sept. 23 and runs through Oct. 1. The week's calendar is a mix of professional development events geared toward entrepreneurs and technology professionals, and social events. Details about events and how to register — some are free while others require tickets — are available online at .
Some highlights you can check out include a science conference put on by University of Maryland BioPark; a women in cybersecurity reception led by cyber news organization CyberWire; and Beta City, the entrepreneurship showcase by Betamore and Sagamore Ventures.
Wink said the key to making Baltimore Innovation Week a success — and bigger than ever — is bringing on more partners.
Technical.ly puts on about a dozen of the week's events, and sponsors, partners and leaders in the city's technology community contribute their own events.
