Under Armour has reached a sponsorship deal with Howard University to design and supply uniforms and other apparel for the athletic teams.
The deal extends to all 19 men's and women's varsity teams at the Washington historically black university, and includes both game uniforms and training gear.
The sponsorship means Under Armour is "teaming up with one of the most vibrant, distinctive and historic programs in the country," said Ryan Kuehl, Under Armour's vice president of sports marketing.
Kery Davis, the university's athletics director, said the brand fits well with the Bison culture.
"Our primary focus at Howard is, of course, our student-athletes, and Under Armour's passion and commitment to high quality and innovation will benefit our student-athletes for years to come," Davis said.
Howard, founded in 1867, is a private, research university made up of 13 schools and colleges. The university produces more on campus African-American Ph.D. recipients than any other U.S. university.
