They feature neither Tom Brady's name nor uniform number. But Under Armour's subtle, Brady-themed shirt seems a hit with fans of the New England Patriots quarterback.
Online customers seeking to buy the plain T-shirt are being told it has sold out.
The number "199" appears on the front of the shirt. Brady was selected 199th in the 2000 NFL draft – a draft position that rarely yields a player of Brady's caliber.
New Englanders seem to like the reference.
"The four-time Super Bowl champion and three-time Super Bowl MVP, of course, was overlooked by every team in the NFL and drafted in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft — at No. 199 overall," says a blog item by the New England Sports Network (NESN).
NESN said a commercial of Brady wearing the shirt "will give you chills."
Under Armour debuted the ad during the national telecast of the Patriots game with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the opener of the NFL season.
The video depicts what appears to be an army of Bradys stretching and working out on multiple fields, closing with the message: "You are the sum of all your training."
The ad is part of the brand's "Rule Yourself" campaign emphasizing the importance of repetition and training in any athletic endeavor.
Shoppers interested in the Brady 199 shirt can pre-order a version of it now expected to ship on Nov. 15.
