Varsity athletes in Wicomico County Public Schools will wear school-branded Under Armour uniforms under a deal being touted as one of the first of its kind in the nation.
The Maryland Coast Dispatch reported that the Eastern Shore school system's five-year agreement with Team Distributors Inc. will make it one of the first counties to outfit all varsity athletes in Under Armour.
Students will start wearing Under Armour gear this fall. School-branded Under Armour items will be sold at the schools as well, with a portion of sales going to athletic programs.
Cathy Townsend, assistant superintendent for administrative services, told The Dispatch the schools are saving money by signing a system-wide contract.
