Under Armour will be the presenting sponsor of the Charles Street 12, a 12-mile event in September that takes runners down Charles Street.
Charm City Run, a specialty running store, manages the event, now in its third year.
The stores have a strong partnership with the Baltimore-based athletic brand, said Josh Levinson, owner of the company that operates five stores in Maryland, runs training programs and manages sporting events.
"At its heart, the Charles Street 12 is a celebration of our city, and Under Armour is part of what makes Baltimore so great," Levinson said in the announcement.
The race will start at the Shops at Kenilworth at 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 5 and head down Charles, a National Scenic Byway, on a course past the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen, Loyola University, University of Baltimore, the Washington Monument and the Walters Art Museum. The race ends at Power Plant Live with a box lunch, beer and live band.
"Under Armour is dedicated to the running category, and this is a great opportunity to build new traditions around the sport in Baltimore," Jasmine Maietta, Under Armour's director of brand marketing, said in the announcement.
The sports apparel maker will kick off the race with a video to motivate runners and offer its "I Will" messaging throughout the course. Women runners will get Under Armour's "Cozy Waffle" long-sleeve shirts, while the men will get "Amplify" thermal crews, both branded with the Charles Street 12 logo.
