Under Armour hires vice president of investor relations

Under Armour hired Lance Allega, a former senior manager at Nike, Sony and VF Corp., as vice president of investor relations, the company said today.

Allega will help the brand communicate its growth strategy, financial performance, operating model and plans for building long-term shareholder value to investors, analysts and others. Most recently, he headed investor relations and strategic accounts for VF Corp. in Greensboro, N.C.,

"As we continue our global expansion, it is critical that we further sharpen our ability to communicate our vision of growth and expertise in managing our diverse portfolio of strategic investments,"  Kevin Plank, Under Armour's chairman and CEO, said in the announcement.

He will start at Under Armour Jan. 23 and work from the company's Baltimore headquarters.

Allega has more than two decades of experience in investor relations, finance, operations and brand management. He held senior management roles at Nike, Oakley, Sony and Accenture.
