Southampton Football Club is heading to Baltimore next month for a week-long training camp, part of a partnership with Under Armour that kicks off July 1, the English soccer club said Friday.

It's the first pre-season trip of the summer for the Saints, which announced a seven-season deal with the sports apparel brand in April. Under Armour will design and make the club's uniforms starting with the 2016/2017 season.

The Saints training camp -- at an as-yet-undisclosed location -- will include clinics for local teams led by Southampton Academy coaches, part of an effort to build on the popularity of soccer in North America.

Club players and staff also will visit Under Armour's Locust Point headquarters.

A pre-season game is on the agenda too, planned for July 15. A spokesman for the club said the match opponent will be announced "in due course."

The club's partnership with Under Armour includes efforts to help develop the next generation of academy talent by providing more than 5,000 pairs of footwear over seven years. The brand also expects to design uniforms for more than 5,000 children through the Saints Foundation.

"Southampton FC, like Under Armour, is humble and hungry," said Peter Murray, vice president of global sports marketing at Under ARmour, in the previous annoucement of the partnership. "They are an institution with strong core values based on a pioneering attitude."
