Harford House of Delegates candidate Beverley plans fundraiser

Cassandra Beverley, a Bel Air lawyer and Abingdon resident running for the House of Delegates in legislative Subdistrict 34B, covering Bel Air and Abingdon, will hold a campaign kickoff event later this week.

The Beverley campaign kickoff and fundraising event will be Thursday, March 27, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at The Tower restaurant, 29 S. Main St. in Bel Air. The cost is $35 per person. Contact crbeverley1@gmail.com for additional information.

Beverley, a Democrat, said in a statement she is running because of her concern about the county's current legislative delegation and "their history of not supporting issues affecting Harford County."

"It is time for the Harford County delegation to focus on the needs of our county," she said.

Beverley has served as an elected member of the Harford County Board of Education since 2012.

As a candidate for the legislature, Beverley said she wants to bring more resources for education to Harford County, referring to "the lack of leadership our current delegation has demonstrated."

"Now is the time to make Harford County a better county for education, for jobs and for the preservation of farmland," Beverley said.
