Ted Hart will be part of the 8th Annual AFP-MD Harford County Celebration of Philanthropy on April 10 at the Water's Edge Corporate Center.
Hart's morning educational session, "Social Networking & Online Fundraising Success" will precede the luncheon celebrating businesses and individuals whose exceptional generosity demonstrates outstanding civic and charitable responsibility, and whose example encourages others to be leaders in philanthropy in Harford County. This year's honorees are Pat and Scot Kaufman, Saxon's Diamond Centers and Dr. Mary Teddy Wray.
Hart is sought after internationally as an inspirational and practical speaker and consultant on topics related to nonprofit strategy, marketing and board/volunteer development both online and offline. He is considered one of the foremost experts in both online and traditional fundraising around the world.
Hart has served as CEO of the University Maryland Medical System Foundation, and before that as chief development officer for Johns Hopkins Medical Center – Bayview Campus.
Hart has presented more than 20 workshops at international fund-raising conferences hosted by AFP since 1990. Hart has served on the AFP International Board of Directors, the AFP Foundation Board and is past president of the AFP-Maryland Chapter.
He also serves as a national member of the Giving USA Advisory Council at the Center on Philanthropy, the nation's foremost authority on fundraising and philanthropy data.
Hart is the author of several published articles and hosts the Nonprofit Coach Internet Radio program, TedHartRadio (www.TedHartRadio.com)
He lives in the Washington, D.C., area with his daughter, Sarah Grace, and son, Alexander Michael.
