Man dies in single-vehicle crash in Harford Co.

A man was killed Saturday when his car hit an embankment and flipped over in Joppa, Harford County sheriff officials said.

Officials responded to the single-vehicle crash on Winters Run Road at about 6:30 p.m.

According to a release from the sheriff's department, the man was driving a Mitsubishi Eclipse south on the road, and a preliminary investigation found that he "failed to navigate a turn."

Officials pronounced the man dead on the scene, and no one else was in the car.

Officials did not release the identity of the man, described as a white male, pending notification of next of kin.

Winters Run Road is expected to be closed for several hours Saturday night while officials continue investigating the scene of the crash.
