Soccer

Draganov School of Soccer offers the following at Howard Community College:

Micro Soccer Program (U-4, U-5 and U-6) is an introduction soccer with emphasis on fun and building individual skills. Players must be in at least kindergarten. July 18 -22 and July 25–29, 9 a.m.-noon.

Summer camps (U-7 to U-16). The camps are suitable for teams and individuals and for players of all levels including recreational and travel. July 18-22; July 25–29; Aug. 1–5 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Olney Cyclones have two rising WAGS U-16 teams for fall 2011-spring 2012 (White D-2 and Blue D-5). The Cyclones are looking for impact goalie/field players. Tryouts continue 5-6:30 p.m. in Olney June 7 (field 2), June 8 (field 3) and June 9 (field 3). Call 301-252-7893.

Lacrosse

The Mt. Hebron Girls Lacrosse Evening Camp will be held June 13-17 from 5-8 p.m. at Mt. Hebron. The camp is for all skill levels and grades 1-8. Registration forms are at http://www.mthebrongirlslax.com. Click on the camp link.

Running

Elkridge Elementary School's Elkster 5k will be held June 11 at the school. The race starts at 8 a.m. Email EESPTA@hotmail.com for more information. Register at http://www.charmcityrun.com. All proceeds from the race benefit EES PTA-programs.

On Father's Day, June 19, there will be the Father's Day 8k at 8 a.m. starting at the Columbia Costco in the Gateway Overlook Shopping Center. Special father/son and father/daughter teams. Sports physicals

Kernan Sports Medicine is offering high school sports physicals at the following times:

June 12, 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m., at Kernan Physical Therapy in Woodlawn. Register by June 8.

July 17, 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m., at Central Maryland Rehab in Columbia. Register by July 13.

July 31, 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m., at Central Maryland Rehab in Columbia. Register by July 23.

Call 410-298-0990 ext. 15 to speak to a certified athletic trainer to set up an appointment. Walk-ins are not accepted. Cost: $30 per athlete for completion of the Kernan Sports Medicine physical form. There is an added $5 for each additional form.

Football and cheer

Fall 2011 football and cheer registration is open for the Columbia Ravens.  The Ravens will hold a walk-up registration and parents meeting, Fri., June 3 at the Howard County Sports Center in Elkridge. Walk-up registration will be available from 5-6 p.m. and will be followed by a brief parents meeting.  Board members and coaches will be on hand to answer questions.  Go to http://www.columbiaravens.com.

Golf

Basketball

The Julius Prezelski Basketball School will be held July 25-28 at Resurrection School, in Ellicott City. The camp is for boys and girls entering grades three through eight this fall. The camp runs from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Go to http://www.jphoops.com.

The Reservoir Boosters boys basketball camp will be held Aug. 1-5 from 9 a.m. to noon at Reservoir High School. This camp is for rising sixth to ninth grade boys. A boys and girls youth basketball camp will be held the same week from 1-4 p.m. This camp is for rising second to fifth grade boys and girls. Baseball

The Laurel Boys and Girls Club is offering the following summer and fall programs – soccer ($50), tackle football ($75), cheerleading ($75), kiddie basketball ($75), high school development ($50), TreePlum summer art ($200 for four-week program (July 5-28). Cross country

The Friday Night Striders cross country series will be held Friday nights July 8, 22, 29 and Aug. 12 at different high schools. A fifth night will be confirmed later. Cost: $5 per race; run three of the five races and receive a Striders' performance shirt.
