On Stage

A new, new 'Nannette'

A local theater company called No Boundaries will perform a revival of the 1925 Broadway musical comedy "No, No, Nannette" Fri.-Sat., June 3-4, 7 p.m., and Sun., June 5, 2 p.m., in the Black Box Theatre at the Howard County Center for the Arts (8510 High Ridge Road, Ellicott City).

The troupe, which has been performing since 1997, will feature some 47 performers and volunteers in its current staging. The company's philosophy is based on the idea that actors with disabilities can unite to pursue artistic endeavors in an accessible environment. The production will be directed by Howie Award-winner Wayne Larrivey.

"No, No, Nannette" looks back at the "flapper era" in its story of a Manhattan heiress who tries to live the wild life in Atlantic City, but finds she is being followed by her button-down fiancé. It also introduced the standard "Tea for Two."
