Alexis Blight, of Columbia, has been named to the dean's list for the spring 2011 semester at Washington and Lee University, in Lexington, Va.

Kathleen Marie Langan, of Columbia, graduated in May from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She will begin family medicine residency at the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System-Falls Church in June. Langan is a 2002 graduate of Hammond High School and a 2006 graduate of The Catholic University of America, in Washington.

The following students, all of Columbia, earned Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary's College of Maryland, in May:

Mary Elise Gottschalk earned a degree in art;

Bradley Scott Shepherd earned degrees in economics and sociology;

Paul Foster Spranklin earned a degree in economics;

Tess Elizabeth Wier earned a degree in English and a minor in women, gender and sexuality studies;

Stephen Joseph Warner earned a degree in history and a minor in educational studies;

Lindsey Danielle Hunter earned a degree in international languages and cultures: French and a minor in educational studies;

Kaitlin Elizabeth Gaylor earned a degree in psychology and a minor in neurosciences;

Teresa Marie Mathews earned a degree in psychology and a minor in educational studies;

Ryan Clark Miller earned a degree in psychology;

Thomas M. Swanson earned a degree in neuroscience;

Michael Vincent Cyrana earned a degree in biology and a minor in environmental studies;

Bradley Scott Shepherd earned degreed in economics and sociology; and

Paul Foster Spranklin earned a degree in economics.
