Richard Murray Rubin, a publishing house customer service representative, died Jan. 21 of a cardiac arrest at his Reisterstown home. He was 56.
Mr. Rubin was born in Baltimore and raised in Randallstown. He was a 1972 graduate of Randallstown High School and attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
Family members said that Mr. Rubin had held a variety of jobs during his lifetime and had worked as a mortgage banker, computer consultant, process server and limousine driver.
For the past 11 years, he had worked in customer service for Agora Publishing in Baltimore. He was also executive director of the Maryland Association of Orthopedic Technologists.
He was a gourmet cook and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. He was particularly known for his spaghetti sauce and shepherd's pie.
Mr. Rubin was a member of Beth Israel Congregation. He was a member of the Lions Club, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Boy Scouts.
He was an avid dog lover.
Services were Jan. 23.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years, the former Stacey Lenovitz; two sons, Scott Rubin and Josh Rubin, both of Morgantown, W.Va.; a daughter, Marci Rubin of Reisterstown; his mother, Catherine "Kay" Rubin of Hagerstown; a brother, Robert Rubin of Stuart, Fla., and a sister, Judith Labombarda of Rochester, N.Y.
