Anthony W. Czapski, a retired clothing maker purchasing executive, died of complications of an infection and heart disease Nov. 28 at Carroll Hospital Center. He was 80 and lived in Reisterstown.
Born in Baltimore and known as Tony C, he was raised on Streeper Street. He was a 1948 Calvert Hall College High School graduate. During his high school years he assisted his teachers, the Christian Brothers, with clerical work. Mr. Czapski earned a business law degree at the University of Baltimore in 1973.
He served in the Maryland National Guard and was a sergeant when he left the service in 1957.
He became a purchasing agent for the J. Schoeneman Co., a maker of men's clothing in Owings Mills.
Mr. Czapski was a duck pin bowler and won 27 trophies. He also followed the Colts and the Orioles and belonged to the Reisterstown Optimists.
A Mass was offered Dec. 3 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Glyndon, where he was director of altar boys.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, the former Trudy Amend; three sons, Richard Anthony Czapski of Columbia, David Anthony Czapski of Glendale and Mark Anthony Czapski of Owings Mills; and two grandsons.
