Noreita M. Ludwig, legal secretary, dies

Noreita M. Ludwig, a retired legal secretary, died Sunday of cancer at St. Agnes Hospital. She was 73.

Noreita Marie Oates, the daughter of a Maryland Shipbuilding and Drydock Co. worker and a homemaker, was born at home in the Howard County community of Alberton-Daniels. She was a 1955 graduate of Milford Mill High School.

The longtime Randallstown resident had been a school bus driver and later was a legal secretary in the 1990s for Zerwitz and Zerwitz, a Baltimore law firm, said her husband of 53 years, Albert Leroy Ludwig Sr., a retired Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. investigator.

Mrs. Ludwig was a lifetime member of the Liberty Road Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed playing bingo, fishing and vacationing at Rehoboth Beach, Del.

She was a member for many years of Wards Chapel United Methodist Church, where a memorial service was held Friday.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Albert L. Ludwig Jr. of Reisterstown and Brian Ludwig of Sykesville; a brother, Norman E. Oates Jr. of Melbourne, Fla.; a sister, Marsha Oates of Westminster; a granddaughter; seven step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
