Harford County sheriffs arrested and charged a second person in the shooting of two Edgewood teenagers this month.
James Cooper Valentine, 20, of Edgewood was charged with attempted murder, assault and other charges in connection with the double shooting of Solothol Delilly and Rashad Colyns, both 18 and from Edgewood, on July 11, police said.
Keeyan Omar Brooks, 18, of the 400 block of Liberty Circle in Edgewood was arrested July 12 and faces the same charges.
Monica Worrell, spokeswoman with the department, said, "It is believed that [Valentine] handed the gun to [Brooks] and encouraged him."
Valentine was picked up by police at about 3 p.m. Friday in the 1600 block of Candlewood Court in Edgewood, police said, where he was in possession of illegal drugs.
Deputies received a call about 5:20 p.m. July 11 about a shooting in the unit block of Yorkshire Drive, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.
When deputies arrived, they found Delilly and Colyns suffering from gunshot wounds to the torso, a spokeswoman from the sheriff's office said.
Delilly was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, while Colyns was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
Valentine remains at the Harford County Detention Center. A bond review is scheduled for Monday.
