Harford man in stable condition after accident in Hickory

A 26-year-old Harford County man remains in stable condition at Maryland Shock Trauma after he lost control of his car and hit the front porch of a business in Hickory, according to Maryland State Police.

Clinton Hyde of the 4300 block of Federal Hill Road in Street faces reckless driving charges after police say he attempted to pass a vehicle while driving north in the 2400 block of Conowingo Road Wednesday at about 5 p.m.

Hyde tired to pass the car on the left shoulder, lost control of the vehicle, crossed the center line and went into the southbound roadside area where he struck and embankment, according to police. Hyde's 2007 Honda Accord then hit three parked vehicles before overturning and coming to a stop at a convenience store located at the corner of Route 1 and Gibson Road, police said.

Police said alcohol may have played a part in the accident.

According to court records, Hyde was charged last week with failure to display a license.
