Two arrests in shooting of store clerk

State police in Harford County have charged two men in the shooting of a convenience store clerk during an armed robbery in Edgewood.

Steven Lamar Joseph, 19, of 300 block of Canoe Lane in Edgewood, and Adam Elijah Williams, 21, of the 9800 block of Dee Way in Middle River, were charged with first- and second-degree assault, armed robbery, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, theft under $1,000 and weapons violations.

Police say two masked men brandished a handgun during the Jan. 11 robbery of the Royal Farms Store in the 600 block of Edgewood Road. One suspect discharged the weapon and injured the clerk during the holdup, police say.

After offering an award for information, police received a tip that led to Joseph, who was arrested Feb. 4. Williams was arrested Feb. 9.

Joseph was held at the Harford County Detention Center in lieu of $250,000 bond. Williams was denied bond.
