A 20-year-old Bel Air man was shot twice in the 2000 block of Starr St. in Edgewood Wednesday night, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies found Thomas Joseph Sweiger in the 500 block of Edgewood Road about 11 p.m. suffering from gunshot wounds to the head and leg. He was transported to Bayview Medical Center, and his condition is unknown, a spokesman for the sheriff's department said.
Deputies responded to a call for a shooting and discovered Sweiger and another uninjured person. The two told deputies that the incident occurred in the Harford Commons area and were able to describe the suspect, according to the department.
A suspect was located and placed into custody about 15 minutes later in the 400 block of Gateshead Court, the spokesman said. The man was found with an open wound to his head and transported to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Charges are pending, the sheriff's department said.
Deputies do not believe the incident to be a random act of violence. The suspect's name was not released.
