How can I get rid of striped crickets in my basement?

Question: How can I get rid of striped crickets in my basement? I've heard them called camel back crickets, spider crickets, and sprickets. Are these the same? Is it true they eat clothing? Do they bite or sting?

Answer:The photo you sent though our website is a camel cricket. All those names are the same critter. Crickets have chewing mouth parts not designed for biting or stinging. They typically feed on living or decaying plants, fungi, or organic materials. It is possible for them to feed on organic fiber clothing, but this is rare. Sticky traps work well to catch them.
