Weather Closings and Delays for February 17, 2021

The following weather announcements have been made:

Thursday, February 18

Carroll Community College: Other. Campus closed. Credit classes move online. CET students call 410-386-8457. Employees work remotely.


Community College of Baltimore County: Other. CCBC is closed until 5 p.m. Only on-site classes and employees are affected by the closure. Students should check Blackboard for instruction. Online and remote classes and employee telework continue.

Coppin State University: Other. All employees should telework. Only essential employees should report to campus. All classes will continue as scheduled in a virtual format. All on-campus face-to-face classes will meet in a virtual format.


Harford Community College: Other. HCC and TUNE @TU_NEMD campus closed. No in-person classes will be held on campus. Remote classes continue, unless notified otherwise by instructor.

Hood College: Other. College will operate as an all-virtual day.

Howard Community College: Other. Code Yellow

Johns Hopkins University: Closed.

Maryland University of Integrative Health: Other. Campus closed. Remote learning and work will continue to operate.

Morgan State University: Other. Face-to-face instruction is canceled. Remote instruction will continue as planned for all classes.

Towson University: Closed. All classes—including remote academic instruction—and telework are canceled.

University of Maryland Baltimore: Other. Campus is closed. Telework, virtual learning should continue as scheduled.


University of Maryland Baltimore County: Closed.

University of Maryland College Park: Closed.

U.S. Naval Academy: Closed. No classes for midshipmen. Liberal leave policy in effect for employees.

National Aquarium: Closed.

Gerstell Academy: Other. All grades will be fully remote.

Gilman School: Other. Upper School: Virtual, on time; Middle School: Virtual, on time; Lower School: closed, snow day (no school). All after-school activities are canceled.


Glenelg Country School: Other. Virtual learning only.

Indian Creek School: Other. Virtual mode. Lower School schedules and links will be sent by classroom teachers. Upper School will follow the regular schedule in virtual format. Both campuses are closed.

Loyola Blakefield: Other. Virtual learning day. Online class sessions will begin at 8:30 a.m. on a D day schedule.

Odyssey School: Closed.

Peabody Institute: Other. Peabody buildings will be closed. All remote work, including remote auditions, meetings, classes, lessons, and other activities, will continue as scheduled. Any scheduled in-person activities will be held online, as scheduled, or should be rescheduled.

Roland Park Country School: Other. Campus will be closed for all activities. Families, please check your emails to see the scheduling updates for each division.


Baltimore City schools: Other. In-person learning and meal sites will be closed. Students will access their learning virtually. Essential employees to report.

Baltimore County schools: Other. Virtual learning continues. Athletic practices moved to virtual or games canceled. School employees work remotely. "Essential" employees report on time for assigned shifts. "Essential as Needed" employees report to work as scheduled (including working remotely) or may request to use leave time. Other office staff should work remotely.

Calvert County schools: Other. Code virtual.

Carroll County schools: Closed.

Cecil County schools: Other. Fully virtual but asynchronous.

Frederick County schools: Closed. Offices closed. No virtual instruction will be provided.


Harford County schools: Closed. Meal kit site distributions scheduled for Friday are postponed until Monday.

Howard County schools: Other. Virtual instruction as scheduled. HCPSS buildings are closed. Meal service canceled. In-person evening activities w/ HCPSS students/staff; community-sponsored programs in HCPSS buildings are canceled.

Montgomery County schools: Other. Virtual learning will continue as scheduled. School buildings are closed and all in-person activities and appointments (including child care and equity hubs) are canceled. Food distribution does not occur Thursday, and technical services at 45 W. Gude are canceled. Central office functions will continue through remote or virtual work.

Prince George's County schools: Other. Virtual learning continues. All buildings and schools are closed and staff should telework. Non-public transportation routes are canceled for Thursday and Friday.

St. Mary's County schools: Delayed start. 2 hour delay. Two-hour delay. No school for a.m. Pre-K only.
