Weather Closings and Delays for December 17, 2020

The following weather announcements have been made:

Thursday, December 17

Carroll Community College: Delayed start. 12:00 PM


Community College of Baltimore County: Delayed start. 11:00 AM

Coppin State University: Delayed start. 10:00 AM


Frostburg State University: Delayed start. 10:00 AM. All offices are closed and events canceled until 10 a.m.

Harford Community College: Other. Campus opens at 10 a.m. Remote classes continue, unless notified otherwise by instructor.

Howard Community College: Other. Code Yellow

Loyola University Maryland: Delayed start. 12:00 PM. Virtual work and learning will continue. Essential employees should report as scheduled.

MICA: Other. Campus will open at noon.

Towson University: Delayed start. 12:00 PM. Physical campus is closed until noon on Thursday. All emergency essential personnel for inclement weather response should report to work on time. Other staff should continue to telework.

University of Maryland Baltimore County: Delayed start. 12:00 PM

U.S. Naval Academy: Delayed start. 2 hour delay. Two-hour delay for all nonessential personnel due to expected icy and hazardous conditions.

American Visionary Art Museum: Delayed start. 3 hour delay. The museum opens at 1:30pm Thursday, December 17.

Jewish Museum of Maryland: Closed.

Maryland Zoo: Closed. Zoo Lights will not run as scheduled. All guests will be contacted to reschedule.

Arlington Baptist School: Closed.

Boys' Latin School of Maryland: Delayed start. 2 hour delay

Calvert School: Delayed start. 2 hour delay

Friends School of Baltimore: Delayed start. 2 hour delay

Gerstell Academy: Other. Lower School closed; Middle and Upper Schools follow remote learning schedules.

Glenelg Country School: Closed.

Greenspring Montessori School: Delayed start. 2 hour delay

Odyssey School: Delayed start. 2 hour delay

Park School of Baltimore: Delayed start. 2 hour delay

School of the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen: Delayed start. 2 hour delay

Baltimore City schools: Other. Baltimore City Public Schools will have classes. However, in-person programs will have a one-hour delayed start. Also, half-day pre-kindergarten programs are canceled. Virtual learning will continue for pre-K students and students that do not participate in in-person learning. Essential employees should report to work as normally scheduled. This includes principals, area facility managers, region techs, lead techs, building engineers, pest control staff, contract maintenance staff, custodial staff, grounds and repair shop personnel, transportation administrative staff, facilities administrative staff, mechanical services staff, school police, and cabinet officers.

Frederick County schools: Other. Frederick County MD public schools will have an all Virtual Day of Instruction, Thursday, December 17, due to inclement weather. All in-person small group instruction is canceled. Employees are encouraged to telework. Staff who must report to buildings should arrive by 9 a.m. Daycare center staff should arrive after 9 a.m. Daycare centers in FCPS schools independently make and communicate decisions about their schedules directly to the media, principal and families they serve.
