"I refused to," he said. "I go in the quiet room."

Waters, like nearly everyone else in Baltimore City, said he gets called for jury duty every year. He did not get picked for a jury.

Waters, whose film "Hairspray" was shown at Thursday's grand reopening of the Senator, has had a roller coaster of a couple weeks.

The Apex, the adult movie house featured in his movie "Cecil B. Demented," closed this week.

"When one great theater closes, another one opens," he said.
