Chykie Brown made his biggest contribution of the preseason Thursday night, when he scored the game-winning touchdown in a 21-7 win over the Atlanta Falcons.
He picked off a fluttering pass and returned it 65 yards for a touchdown late in the third quarter. Later in the game, Brown leveled running back Antone Brown on a tackle.
Brown, a rookie fifth-round pick, is trying to squeeze on to the Ravens' 53-man roster as the sixth cornerback. He could be headed for the practice squad.
"Chykie did really well," coach John Harbaugh said. "He was up and down at camp and understanding the defense [from a] discipline standpoint. Chykie got out there and made a lot of the right decisions."
He is trying to avoid being one of the few draft picks from the Ravens' 2010 class not to make the team. Cornerback Jimmy Smith (first round), wide receiver Torrey Smith (second round), offensive tackle Jah Reid (third round), wide receiver Tandon Doss (fourth round), defensive end Pernell McPhee (fifth round) and quarterback Tyrod Taylor (sixth round) have all made the Ravens.
Brown and running back Anthony Allen (seventh round) are the rookie draft picks who are on the bubble.
