Jimmy Smith participated in his first full practice on Tuesday since June 30, but it wasn't enough to convince coach John Harbaugh to allow the Ravens' top draft pick of 2011 to play in Thursday night's preseason opener at the Philadelphia Eagles.
"No, I think we keep him out on Thursday," Harbaugh said after Tuesday's practice, which is the team's last session open to the media. "He's only had one practice."Smith had tweaked his groin on Aug. 1 and sat out the next four days of training camp. He made brief appearances on Saturday and Monday, but it appears that the team will be cautious with the 27th overall pick.
Smith's injury and Domonique Foxworth's absence over the last two days could move the team closer to starting Chris Carr and Lardarius Webb at cornerback against the Eagles.
