Foxworth¿s status for Thursday night up in the air

Cornerback Domonique Foxworth, who is trying to make a comeback from a torn anterior cruciate ligament, sat out his second consecutive practice, and his status for the Ravens' preseason opener at the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night is unclear.

Foxworth did not have any issues with his surgically-repaired right knee during the first nine days of training camp, but he did concede on Aug. 1 that the knee was sore and that he was not moving as quickly as he would like.

With Foxworth missing the past two days and rookie Jimmy Smith easing his way back after missing four straight practices last week, Chris Carr and Lardarius Webb could start at cornerback against the Eagles. In addition to Foxworth, wide receivers James Hardy (hamstring) and rookie Rodney Bradley (unspecified), center Matt Birk (left knee), tight end Ed Dickson (hamstring), linebacker Tavares Gooden (unspecified) and defensive tackle Cornell Banks (unspecified) did not practice.

Carr and defensive end Cory Redding returned after not participating in Monday's session.

The Ravens added guard/tackle Kyle Calloway to the roster and released rookie running back Walter Sanders (Mervo). Sanders' No. 38 jersey was worn by newly-signed running back Ricky Williams for Tuesday's practice.
