Ed Reed joins Jimmy Smith on sidelines

Pro Bowl safety Ed Reed missed his first practice at this year's training camp with an undisclosed injury. It doesn't appear serious because he was stretching and doing some exercises in between the practice fields.

Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith, the team's first-round pick, missed his third straight practice with a groin injury. Ravens coach John Harbaugh described Smith's injury as a "tweak" on Wednesday.

Also not practicing was wide receiver James Hardy, who has been out two of the past three days with a hamstring injury.Ravens safety Tom Zbikowski was practicing, which means he has been removed from the non-football illness list.

This was the first full-team practice of camp. The Ravens delayed practice 2 1/2 hours so everyone could suit up. The league year began just before 5 p.m. when the players union approved the new 10-year collective bargaining agreement.
