Soon after they were cut Monday, several of the Ravens talked to members of the organization about returning if they were offered new, acceptable contracts, according to a team source.

According to the source, Mason spoke with several coaches after general manager Ozzie Newsome released him. Mason wasn't mad, and expressed interest in returning. The source said that tight end Todd Heap had too much pride, and might not return to the club. Defensive tackle Kelly Gregg has also expressed an interest in returning to the Ravens, but he might become a target of New York Jets coach Rex Ryan. Gregg and Ryan were extremely close during Ryan's time in Baltimore as the team's defensive line coach and coordinator.

The players waived Monday are expected to get physicals this morning and later meet with Newsome.
