'Page One: Inside the New York Times' is hanging tough at the Charles -- but not for long.
It's already sharing a screen, so you should make sure you see it this week.
Stephen Colbert, in the clip above, says -- in his fetching-facetious mode -- that "it combines the thrill of a newspaper with the heart-stopping action of a documentary."
The movie gives the lie to that joke -- at least when David Carr, Colbert's interviewee, is on-screen. "Page One" depicts Carr assembling his heroic take-down of the Tribune Company executives who maintained a crude, destructive corporate culture from December 2007 to October 2010. It's a prime example of a seasoned writer like Carr going all the way with a story, in full confidence that a smart, principled institution like the Times will stand behind him.
That alone is worth your $9.50.
