The Ravens are one of five teams showing interest in fullback Vonta Leach, according to Fox 26 in Houston.
Leach is considered the top fullback available in free agency. The Ravens are likely looking for a blocking fullback to replace Le'Ron McClain, who is more of a hybrid fullback.
Other teams reportedly in the mix are Houston, Dallas, Denver and the New York Giants. The Ravens could be limited in negotiations because they're about $4 million under the salary cap."There are multiple teams expressing interest in Vonta," said Ralph Vitolo, Leach's agent. "We are still hopeful Vonta can return to the Texans, if at all possible."
Leach went to his first Pro Bowl last season after being the lead blocker for Arian Foster, the NFL's rushing champion.
The Raven could also show interest in Cleveland fullback Lawrence Vickers.
Note: To answer all the questions about the Ravens' cap. They were never $18M under the cap. They made cuts to create $18M in cap room. The Ravens were over the cap at one point. And the restricted free agents count a little over $10M against the cap. And Yanda signing will count around $4M against the cap. That's why the Ravens are working with about $4M.
